ENB+ Side Events Coverage

 

At major meetings, such as Conferences of the Parties, ENB on the Side (ENBOTS) communicates the key messages from side events, providing exposure befitting their important role in the processes IISD Reporting Services covers.

 

ENBOTS reports complement ENB reporting from the main negotiations, as side events have become “incubators” of ideas that have been subsequently incorporated into the official negotiations.....

COMIFAC: Final communiqué of the 9th workshop of the WGCCD

The 9th Workshop of the Working Group of the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification (WGCCD) of the COMIFAC member countries was held in N'Djamena (Chad) at the Mercure Hotel in Chari, from 6-7 July 2017, in preparation for the Conference of the Parties 13 to the UNCCD and to develop a common consensual  sub- regional position on items on the agenda of the next CoP, scheduled for 6-16 September in Erdos, China.

FAO: Local communities and sustainable wildlife use in Central Africa

This book comprises three sections broken down into thirteen chapters. The first part introduces the topic of discussion and the context dealing with economic , nutritional and legal issues associated with so-called " village “ hunting and  the use of wild life by local populations. adaptation-fund: Adaptation Fund Board Approves US$ 20.4M in New Project Funding in Intersessional Period

Washington, D.C. (July 10, 2017) — The Adaptation Fund Board approved US$ 20.4 million in new project funding during its intersessional review period ending in early July – including a regional food security project along the Colombia-Ecuador border, a regional water security project in the Lake Victoria Basin of East Africa, and a mangrove restoration project in Senegal.

REFADD prepares for COP 23

The Minister of the Environment and Sustainable Development, Amy Ambatobe Nyongolo, announced Friday, 07 July 2017, during a press conference, that  the contracts of 5 forest concessions had been cancelled. These include the Bâtisseurs duCongo Sarl Group, the Ondika group with two concessions, Isolado and Action for the Congo.
