Dear Members of the Advisory Forum, Dear stakeholders in responsible forest management in the Republic of Cameroon, following the publication of the first draft which was discussed and tested on the ground, our FSC Standards Development Group, officially recognized by FSC-International, recently produced Draft 2.0 of the new National FSC Standard for forest certification in the Republic of Cameroon.

 

 

The document complies with the final document on the International Generic Indicators (attached to this e-mail), of version 5 of the FSC Principles and Criteria, and the FSC Specifications on the functioning of each Standards Development Group.

 

 

This note opens the attached Draft 2.0 for consultation for sixty (60) days with effect from 03 January to 05 March 2017 in accordance with ISEAL standards.

Libre Afrique-DRC: Virunga National Park under renewed threat from oil exploration

Two years after the departure of Soco, the nightmare is back. The Africa Energy Intelligence (AEI) letter in Paris recently revealed that the Congolese Government is not done with oil exploration in the Park. The state-owned National Hydrocarbons Company of Congo (Sonahydro), has "agreed in principle" to reassign Soco’s license to an unnamed company, called the 'Oil Quest International, a subsidiary of oil Quest Holdings....

TRAFFIC: Organized criminal gangs behind rhino horn processing in South Africa—new study

Recent evolutions of forest concessions status and dynamics in Central Africa
