Main findings of the sixth session of the CEFDHAC Regional Steering Committee

Initiated by the Regional Office of the Regional Steering Committee (CPR), with the technical and financial support of the GIZ " COMIFAC Support" project, the sixth session of the Sub-regional Steering Committee of the Conference on Dense and Humid Forest Ecosystems of Central Africa (CEFDHAC) was held in Bujumbura, Burundi from May 22 to 24, 2014.

The meeting aimed to update the Kigali business plan, with a view to developing strategies and adopting pragmatic measures for promoting the activities of national networks and fora and as well as enhancing CEFDHAC’s dynamism.

The gathering drew statutory members of the Regional Steering Committee (CPR), CEFDHAC, representatives of GIZ, the Regional REDD + project and GEF COMIFAC, the PACEBCo Regional Coordination and the project for the establishment of a disaster monitoring and management observatory, as well as CBFP resource persons.

The presentations and discussions conducted during the working sessions provided a forum for participants to put a series of recommendations to certain institutional partners including CEFDHAC, COMIFAC, COBAM and other development partners (GIZ, IUCN , the Regional REDD + project, PACEBO, etc..). The recommendations marked the end of the meeting.
