ECCAS

The Economic Community of Central African States (ECCAS) is an intergovernmental organization established in October 1983. Its General Secretariat was set up in January 1985 and currently has 11 Member States. Its aim is to promote and strengthen harmonious cooperation and balanced as well as self-sustained development in the fields of economic and social activity. It intends to achieve collective self-reliance, a raised standard of living for the people, increased economic stability, peaceful relations between Member States and wants to contribute to the overall Progress and development of the African continent.
