Characteristic Duties

 

The mission is twofold:

a- To engender the political will of European – particularly EU - decision-makers to provide for adequate technical and financial means for the effective implementation of commitments and outcomes stemming from key African regional and subregional policy fora addressing wildlife trade problems – with an emphasis on Central Africa and its Congo Basin;

 

b- To support the political will, policy commitments and outcomes at key regional Central Africa and Congo Basin fora that lead to the effective implementation of European – particularly EU - efforts outside Europe to address wildlife trade problems, with a focus on Central Africa and the Congo Basin.

Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator – UNEP-CTCN

The Adaptation Fund has launched a new USD 10 million pilot small grants programme (Adaptation Fund Climate Innovation Accelerator, AFCIA) to foster innovation in adaptation in developing countries at the United Nations Climate Change Conference (COP25) in Madrid. Two of the Adaptation Fund’s accredited Multilateral Implementing Entities (MIEs), the United Nations Environment Programme (UNEP) and the United Nations Development Programme (UNDP), have been selected as implementing entities of the AFCIA. The Climate Technology Centre and Network (CTCN) works in conjunction with UNEP, receiving USD 5 million to administrate and aggregate 25 micro-grants projects (up to USD 250,000 each).

WWF-Evaluation of Human – Wildlife interactions with focus on Human- Elephant conflicts, in WWF Cameroon Supported landscapes: Case of the West Coast Cluster of Mount Cameroon National Park, South West region

The goal of this consultancy as captured in its TORs, is to; provide specific guidelines for the longterm and dynamic managment of human-wildlife encounters, conflicts and co-existence in the west coast of the coastal forests programme (CFP) in the South West Region of Cameroon and generate lessons for ogther programmes. The CFP also has the specificities of hosting WWF Cameroon’s biggest Civil Society support programme facilitating the Management of four Protected Areas: Korup, Banyang Mbo, Bakossi and Mount Cameroon.
