Call for Expressions of Interest: ICAT ready to engage with additional partner countries

Following promptly on from the announcement in December 2020 of its funding extension, ICAT is pleased to open the call for Expressions of Interest for countries to join the global Initiative and increase their capacity to take effective climate action through enhanced transparency.

Considering ICAT’s track-record of delivering hands-on support via short, agile projects to 40 national and subnational governments to date, new partner countries will join a global network of expert partners and receive tailored support to develop effective transparency systems according to their country’s needs and priorities.

As ICAT places a strong emphasis on ensuring capacity built within a country continues to benefit its partners over the long-term, partner countries will receive additional resources for work by national experts, training activities and international expert advice. Furthermore, ICAT partner countries will gain access to its suite of innovative tools and methodologies as well as unique opportunities for peer-to-peer collaboration and knowledge exchange.

As a result, ICAT partner countries will be able to enhance the implementation of their NDCs through (1) effective tracking of progress, (2) improved reporting under the Paris Agreement due by 2024, and (3) using better data to further strengthen their NDCs in 2025.
