The workshop organized by COMIFAC from 21 to 23 January 2013 in Bafoussam, with the financial support of GIZ, aimed at planning COMIFAC ES activities in 2013, in collaboration with partners. It was organized at a quite difficult moment for COMIFAC, especially as concerns financial resources needed for its proper functioning, and pending pledges of partners.

This workshop, apart from COMIFAC's team, was massively attended by representatives of partner organizations, namely: Chad’s National Coordination of COMIFAC, PACEBCO, PRREDD, OFAC, GTCCC, GIZ, GFA/GIZ, TNS Foundation, MNV/FAO Project, CEFDHAC, JICA, GFA/Kfw, RIFFEAC, WWF, TRAFFIC and resource persons. In all 30 participants, during three full and intense days of work, exchanged about presentations on:

♦ COMIFAC ES 2012 work plan implementation review,

 ♦ Priority actions for 2013,

♦ Various forms of support provided by COMIFAC partners in 2012 under the PTA and/or their mandate and supports planned for 2013,

♦ An exposé with the theme “Towards RBM: Where do we stand?2013 Perspectives”.

Furthermore, group/workshop deliberations organized to this regard also enabled participants to further reflect on COMIFAC ES 2013 PTA and on the preparation of a road map for the next steps.

In an atmosphere of openness and valuable contributions from many, different partners, at the end of the workshop, renewed their commitments to support the Executive Secretariat technically and financially in the implementation of the 2013 PTA. Furthermore, a series of recommendations was made, on the one hand, to COMIFAC ES for effectiveness in the implementation of the 2013 PTA, taking into consideration major events in the sub-region and, on the other hand, to respect their commitments and for more communication with the COMIFAC.

The workshop in Bafoussam ended with a word of gratitude addressed to partners.
