United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change, COMIFAC negotiators get drilled in preparation for COP 25 In Santiago, Chile.

The preparatory sub-regional workshop in view of upcoming events under the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC) took place from 28 to 29 October 2019 in Douala, Cameroon.
The workshop was hosted by the Central African Forest Commission (COMIFAC) with the technical and financial support of the Japanese Cooperation through the Japanese International Cooperation Agency (JICA) and the German Cooperation through the GIZ.
The workshop’s main aim was to equip the COMIFAC negotiators with the tools they need to participate effectively and satisfactorily in COP 25 which will take place from 2 to 13 December 2019 in Santiago, Chile.
Close to thirty delegates took part in the workshop including representatives of the COMIFAC Executive Secretariat, supporting partners (JICA and GIZ), UNFCCC focal points of the COMIFAC countries (Cameroon, Central African Republic, the Democratic Republic of the Congo, Gabon, Equatorial Guinea, Sao Tome and Principe and Chad), representatives of national communications coordinators, representatives of COMIFAC National Coordinators (Equatorial Guinea, DRC) and resource persons.
