COP26 FERN-Investing in nature: Championing good governance and rights-based solutions. Wednesday, November 10, 13h30-14h30(UTC)

On the sidelines of COP26, please join us for a hybrid event on: ZOOM

The urgency of mobilising adequate funding that delivers for climate, nature and people is globally recognised. Yet existing commitments and investments related to forests and forest communities remain inadequate and opaque. Fern, Climate Chance, and Transparency International will share their latest research and analysis on ensuring that ‘finance for nature’ improves biodiversity protection, strengthens rights, and leads to greater accountability in forest rich countries.

Discussants will include

  • Ronan Dantec, President, Climate Chance Association
  • Brice Böhmer, Head of Climate Integrity Programme, Transparency International
  • Claude Hypdo, Coordinator, Transparency International Cameroon
  • Christian Mounzéo, Coordinator, Rencontre pour la Paix et les Droits de l’Homme, Republic of Congo
  • Fred Pearce, Journalist and Fern board member
  • Video message: Michèle Rivasi, Member of the European Parliament

This event is organised by Fern in collaboration with Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC) and the Congo Basin Forest Partnership (CBFP).
