The Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC) is launching a call for applications for the position of Executive Secretary, as the current term ends on December 31, 2025, in accordance with the organization’s internal regulations.
🧭 Role of the Executive Secretary:
The Executive Secretary is the legal representative of COMIFAC. They coordinate the Executive Secretariat’s work, oversee activity implementation, prepare meetings of the Council of Ministers, develop programs and budgets, and promote the institution at the international level.
👤 Candidate Profile:
Must be a national of a COMIFAC member state;
Be between 35 and 56 years old;
Hold a Master’s degree or equivalent in forestry, environment, or a related field;
Have at least 10 years of high-level experience in the governance of national, sub-regional, or international institutions related to forest ecosystem management in Central Africa;
Strong diplomatic and political skills;
In-depth knowledge of environmental and geopolitical issues in the region;
Proficiency in IT tools, English, and at least one official language of the COMIFAC region (French, Spanish, Portuguese).
📬 How to Apply:
Applications must be submitted only by the Ministers of Forests and/or Environment of COMIFAC member states. Each country may submit a maximum of three (3) applications.
