As part of the implementation of the CAFI 2 & 3 Forestry Programs, aimed at reducing emissions from the forestry sector through national forest certification, the creation of an elite unit to strengthen forest law enforcement, and the improvement of community forest management in Gabon, The Nature Conservancy (TNC) is seeking a consultant.
The consultant will be responsible for developing methodological guides and technical tools for the creation, management, and monitoring of community forests. The goal is to support the Gabonese forestry administration in its mission to assist community forests and to help local communities improve their practices.
The consultant will propose a detailed and explicit methodology, along with a timeline to achieve the objectives and deliver the expected results. The mission must be carried out in a participatory and interactive manner, engaging with all key stakeholders (government agencies, civil society, communities, farmers, and technical support firms) to identify their needs and expectations regarding the required guides and methodological tools.
Complete application files, with the mention "CAFI 3 - Development of Methodological Guides and Technical Tools for Community Forests", must be submitted in a sealed envelope no later than April 4, 2025, at 5:00 PM Libreville time or sent by email.
