The CBFP and COMIFAC in the heart of COP 16 desertification “Our land. Our future.”

The meeting was held at the COMIFAC-CBFP Initiative Pavilion in Riyadh.

Riyadh, Saudi Arabia, 4 December 2024– COP 16 desertification: Ambassador Mrs Salina Grenet-Catalano, French CBFP Co-Facilitator of the Republic of Gabon and Ambassador Dr Aurélie Flore Koumba Pambo, CBFP Co-Facilitator of the Republic of Gabon in a working session with the Executive Secretary and the Deputy Executive Secretary of the COMIFAC.

During this meeting, both parties discussed how to carry the voice of the Congo Basin during ongoing discussions at the COP 16. 

COMIFAC and CBFP during this meeting equally harmonised their agendas in view to improve the international visibility of Congo Basin forests in the Balém COP30 prospect.

Both co-facilitators reviewed the road map of the French-Gabonese Co-Facilitation and explored ways of ensuring greater mobilisation of all stakeholders around Congo Basin issues.
