COMIFAC: Call for Applications – 3 High-Level Positions

The Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC) is launching a call for applications to fill three strategic positions, as the current mandates come to an end on December 31, 2025:

1. Executive Secretary
2. Deputy Executive Secretary & Technical Coordinator
3. Administrative and Financial Director (DAF)

These roles are critical to the coordination, governance, and operational efficiency of the institution, which leads forest policy efforts across Central Africa.

📌 Positions & Key Requirements

1. Executive Secretary

• Represents COMIFAC and coordinates the work of the Executive Secretariat;
• At least 10 years of high-level experience in managing environmental institutions;
• Minimum Master’s degree in forestry, environment, or related fields;
• Strong diplomatic and political skills, with knowledge of the regional context.

2. Deputy Executive Secretary & Technical Coordinator

• Coordinates the technical activities of the Secretariat;
• Minimum 10 years of experience in sustainable forest management;
• Engineer-level degree (Master’s or equivalent) in Forestry or related fields.

3. Administrative and Financial Director (DAF)

• Oversees finance, budget, administration, and human resources;
• CPA or Master’s in Accounting, Finance, or Management;
• Strong knowledge of financial and administrative procedures in regional institutions.

🧾 General Requirements (All Positions)

• Be a citizen of a COMIFAC member state;
• Be aged between 35 and 56;
• Have full civil rights and good moral standing;
• Proficiency in IT tools, English, and at least one official language of COMIFAC (French, Spanish, or Portuguese).

📬 Application Process

Applications must be submitted exclusively by the Ministers of Forests and/or Environment of each member state, no later than August 14, 2025.
Each country may submit up to three (3) applications per position.
