Contribute to EdAP 2025: A New Assessment of Biodiversity in Central Africa

The Observatory for Central African Forests (OFAC), with support from the European Union, has launched the preparation of the new State of Protected and Conserved Areas in Central Africa – EdAP 2025.

This third volume, following the editions of 2015 and 2020, will provide an updated overview of biodiversity and its conservation status in Central Africa, aligned with the targets of the Kunming-Montreal Global Biodiversity Framework.

Following the launch workshop held in Douala on April 7–8, 2025, a first draft structure has been proposed (see attached document). As part of this process, OFAC is issuing a call for contributions to researchers, experts, managers, practitioners, and partners involved in conservation in Central Africa.

📌 Interested individuals are invited to fill out the form by May 31, 2025:

The form allows you to:

  • Indicate the chapters you wish to contribute to (as lead author, co-author, or contributor);

  • Propose new chapter topics, if needed, provided they are complementary, based on original data, and relevant to decision-making.

The total number of chapters will be limited to 15. The Editorial Committee reserves the right to accept or decline proposed chapters, while ensuring that all valuable contributions are recognized through other OFAC publications (technical notes, policy briefs, etc.).

For reference:

EdAP 2025 aims to become a key tool for guiding biodiversity conservation policy and action in the region. OFAC counts on the strong engagement of all stakeholders.
