COMIFAC, the CBFP, CAFI and the GIZ Regional Support Project for COMIFAC are pleased to launch a call for proposals to host parallel events at the COMIFAC-CBFP Initiatives Pavilion.
The Commission des Forêts d'Afrique Centrale (COMIFAC) in close collaboration with the Co-Facilitation of the French and Gabonese Republics of the Congo Basin Forest Partnership (CBFP), the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI), the GIZ Regional Support Project to COMIFAC,are pleased to launch a call for proposals to host side events at the COMIFAC-CBFP Initiatives Pavilion during the 16th session of the Conference of the Parties to the United Nations Convention to Combat Desertification to be held in Riyadh, Saudi Arabia from 2-13 December 2024.
The “COMIFAC – CBFP Initiatives Pavilion” aims to help raise the global ambition and accelerate action on land resilience and drought through a people-centred approach. It offers COMIFAC countries and partners the opportunity to be at the forefront of critical dialogue and decision-making, and to unite a global community of stakeholders in the areas drought, climate, forest, biodiversity conservation and development around a Central Africa-led agenda. It is the only results- and action-oriented Central African pavilion of its kind to bring together decision-makers, scientists, practitioners and CSOs in the fields of climate, development and biodiversity conservation.
Proposals must be prepared freely, however, guidance is given below and the deadline for submissions is 27 November 2024.
Proposals will be examined by a technical committee made up of members of the organising committee according to the criteria listed below, while seeking a balance between the thematic areas. The committee's decision is final. Applicants for selected proposals will be contacted on 29 November 2024.
