📍 Expo Belém, Brazil
🗓️ Submission deadline: 01 September 2025
As the international community prepares for the 30th Conference of the Parties (COP30) to the United Nations Framework Convention on Climate Change (UNFCCC), Central Africa is mobilizing with a dedicated and strategic space: the COMIFAC Initiatives Pavilion.
This pavilion is led by the Central African Forests Commission (COMIFAC), in collaboration with the co-facilitation of the French and Gabonese Republics under the Congo Basin Forest Partnership (CBFP), the Central African Forest Initiative (CAFI), and the GIZ Regional Project supporting COMIFAC. It offers a platform for dialogue, coordination and the visibility of regional priorities related to climate, biodiversity, and sustainable development.
Call for Side Event Proposals
As part of its programming, the Pavilion is launching a call for side event proposals for 60-minute sessions. These events aim to foster knowledge exchange, showcase impactful initiatives, and address key thematic and policy issues linked to climate action in Central Africa.
By submitting a proposal, selected applicants will have the opportunity to:
- Contribute to a results-oriented, high-impact program;
- Become official partners of the Pavilion, benefiting from enhanced visibility among high-level stakeholders;
- Actively participate in advancing regional climate leadership and cooperation.
Priority Topics
Proposals are encouraged on the following themes:
- Land resilience and drought mitigation through people-centered approaches;
- Biodiversity conservation and sustainable use in the Congo Basin;
- Innovative climate financing mechanisms;
- Public-private partnerships and governance;
- Interdisciplinary and interinstitutional dialogue on climate and development in Central Africa.
Practical Information
Submissions will be reviewed by a technical committee based on quality, relevance, and thematic balance. A diversity of actors and approaches will be sought to ensure inclusive and meaningful discussions.
Deadline for submission: 01 September 2025
Notification of selected proposals: 30 September 2025
