📅 September 24 – 26, 2025
📍 N’Djamena, Chad
The International Colloquium on the Implementation of Pastoral Transhumance Policies will take place from September 24 to 26, 2025, in N’Djamena (Chad). This high-level event will bring together the countries of the Lake Chad region – Niger, Nigeria, Cameroon, Chad, and the Central African Republic (CAR) – to collectively address key issues related to:
- protected areas,
- peace and security,
- pastoral economy,
- and sustainable development.
A strategic regional gathering
Organized as part of the ongoing efforts of the Congo Basin Forest Partnership (CBFP), this colloquium builds on the 2019 N’Djamena Declaration and previous meetings held in Douala, Kinshasa, Libreville, and Yaoundé.
Its main objective is to consolidate achievements, strengthen regional cooperation, and promote peaceful management of pastoral mobility, while balancing conservation, development, and stability across the Sahelian and Central African regions.
