The CIFREDD 2023–2024 Annual Report (pdf - 2.75 Mi) highlights a year of transformation, marked by both significant progress and logistical challenges. It shows how, despite obstacles, the organization maintained its core commitments to training, research, and sustainable development.
Amid a strategic regional context, CIFREDD played an active role in key events, including the 2nd International Ministerial Conference on Transhumance, the Burundi Investment Opportunities Forum, and the 20th Meeting of the Congo Basin Forest Partnership (CBFP), where it co-organized a side event on climate finance and sustainable development.
The report also outlines how CIFREDD strengthened partnerships with major stakeholders such as COMIFAC, CBFP, BMZ, and ADIP, while providing institutional support to the Ministry of Environment of Burundi during its COMIFAC presidency.
Looking ahead to 2025–2026, CIFREDD plans to deepen engagement with the private sector, promote the digitalization of natural resource management, and scale up actions on landscape restoration, payments for ecosystem services, and protected area management.
This report reflects a clear trajectory: that of an organization committed to building a more inclusive and sustainable future in Central Africa and beyond.
